Privacy Policy
What GuildFinder collects, why, and what you can do about it.
Last updated 4 October 2026
The short version
- We store your Discord ID, name and avatar, and what you do on GuildFinder: listings, votes, reviews, favorites, reports and ads.
- We count visits and clicks with a code that changes every day, made from a one-way hash. We don't store your IP address.
- No ad trackers, no analytics companies, and we don't sell or rent your data.
- The bot can't read your messages.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
What we collect
When you sign in
Discord gives us your user ID, username, display name and avatar. If you sign in after we switch to GuildFinder's own sign-in, Discord also gives us the list of servers you're in, so we can offer the ones you manage when you add a listing. We keep that list for a short time only.
When you use the site
Listings and their details, votes, reviews, favorites, reports (the person you reported never sees who reported them), ads, AdCoin history, notifications, and which servers you clicked Join on.
About servers and bots
For listed servers: the name, icon, banner, description, member count and online count that Discord makes public, and our own snapshots of the member count over time. For listed bots: the public information in their Discord app profile.
Counting views and clicks
To count how many people saw, clicked or joined something without counting the same person twice, we combine your IP address and browser name into a one-way code that changes every day. We store only that code, never the IP address. Daily duplicate checks are deleted after a day; totals are kept as plain numbers.
What the bot can see
In servers that add it, the bot can see the server's name, icon, banner, member and online counts, its channels, and the invites it creates. It checks a member's permissions when they run /server setup or confirm ownership, to make sure they manage the server. It posts only in a promotions channel the server chooses. It does not have access to message content and does not read your messages.
It may send you direct messages about your listings, ads, verification and account. These are the same notifications you see on the site.
How we use it
- To run GuildFinder: show listings, rankings, reviews and ads, and keep your account working.
- To show owners and advertisers how their listings and ads perform, as totals.
- To keep GuildFinder safe: detect fake votes, click fraud and abuse, and handle reports.
- To contact you about your account, listings and ads.
What's public
Your username and avatar appear with your reviews and on your profile page, along with your vote and review counts, your favorites, and the listings you own. Listings and their details are public. Votes are shown as totals, not by who voted.
How long we keep it
Your account data stays while you have an account. Reviews, listings and ads stay until you or we remove them. Daily duplicate-check codes are deleted after a day. Sign-in sessions expire after 14 days. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your account, sessions, favorites, votes, reviews and notifications within 30 days, and remove or unlink your listings. We may keep records of ads and AdCoin transactions, and of moderation actions, where we need them for fraud prevention or the law.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, through the contact page. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have more rights, including to object to how we use your data or to complain to a data protection authority. We'll answer within 30 days.
Children
GuildFinder is not for anyone under 13, or under the minimum age for Discord where they live. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll show it on the site or tell you in a notification before it takes effect.
